Slow living for busy creatives.
Hi, I’m Verity. Life coach, writer and mama passionate about prioritising peace.
“We are weary. We have burdened ourselves with an inordinate amount of possessions, packed social calendars, busy work schedules - loads far too heavy for us to carry - and yet we grip them with clenched hands. More straw, we think. Just one more piece.”
Take a Breath & Savour the Slow
Hello! I’m Verity Gaida, a life coach and writer based on the Suffolk coast, trying my hardest to live a slow life in a fast world (with an even faster ADHD brain).
I use my years of experience and inspiration working with and around small creative business owners alongside my passion for living slow to help you find peace in your life and your work. I’m officially qualified as a coach through the Beautiful You Coaching Academy with over 50 hours of 121 coaching experience to back me up.
I believe that choosing a more intentional way of life will create more space to trust yourself and your choices. Existing in our noisy world, trying to tick all the boxes of ‘success’ while keeping up with society’s unrealistic expectations leaves very little time to question who you are and what you do (it’s almost like our world has been designed this way, hmmmm…).
When you make conscious decisions from a place of calm, your life starts to align with your biggest dreams far quicker than you can imagine. But in saying that, my absolute favourite outcome of working with anyone is realising that where you are in life and business now is actually, pretty damn good. Being content is underrated, but feeling happy where you are now, without a desperation to rush through life, is, I’d say, the nicest, least stressful place to be.
About me:
Mama of two, living on the Suffolk coast.
I was diagnosed with ADHD at 41 years old. Figuring this all out is still a journey. Prior to this, I’d been attracting ADHD clients unknowingly: guess we all recognise someone else who needs a slower life!
In my previous life, I was an EFL teacher, teaching English in South Korea, Vietnam and London. It’s the longest I’ve ever stayed in one career, with previous jobs in fashion PR, retail and luxury jewellery (and a LOT of temp admin jobs). My degree is in Psychology.
I have always admired anyone making a living from their creative talent and started my first blog interviewing makers in 2013 (I’ve just resuscitated it here, in fact). This gave me opportunities working for magazines, craft markets and design agencies. I even created my very own magazine in the pandemic (whilst pregnant - it was an excellent distraction).
I’m now leaning into my own creativity more and experimenting with art, photography, styling, interiors and craft. Very much here for the process, not the final outcome. I call myself a ‘recovering non-creative’.
